A hundred lines will not monitor SEO

Tutorials that build a live SEO dashboard in 100 lines of Python fetch a homepage and print a status code. That is a probe. It is not a diagnosis.

What 100 lines can do

Request a list of URLs you already trust. Record status, final URL after redirects, the title, and the canonical. Fail the script when a production URL 404s or the title comes back empty. Run it on a schedule you read. That is a useful alarm.

What it cannot do

It will not discover orphan pages, judge duplicates, or explain GEO. Rendering JavaScript, respecting robots across a host, and storing history is a crawler, not a snippet. Copying an SEO API key into a notebook does not create a monitoring product either.

Put the script next to the check

Keep the probe for the ten URLs that must never break. Use Fix SEO Today when you need the rest of the site. History in the product is the record. The script is the pager. Do not merge them into a dashboard nobody opens.

  • Known URLs

A probe is not a discovery crawl.

  • Alert on empty titles

    That catches a bad deploy.

  • Do not plot vanity

A chart of status 200 is not an SEO strategy.

FAQ

Should I build a monitoring dashboard?

Build the alarm if you will answer it. Buy or run a real crawl for discovery. A 100-line dashboard usually becomes an unmaintained chart.

Can I send your results into Python?

There is no API for that. Export the report if you need a file.

Why is Fix SEO Today cheaper?

A hosted monitoring API is extremely expensive for a chart a small crawl can feed. Fix SEO Today is cheaper because you pay for the diagnosis. A free peek, then $19 a month for one project or $99 a month for unlimited projects. That covers the crawl and the plain-English fix list, including GEO. It leaves out the backlink index, the rank-tracker seats, and the ads module.
