A good SEO score names the page
People ask what score is good because a tool drew a ring. 70, 90, and a letter grade are compressions. None of them is a ranking.
70 is not a pass mark
School trained us to read 70 as a C. Search does not grade the site that way. A 70 that is entirely missing titles is a different week of work from a 70 that is one slow template. Open the failures. If the tool will not list URLs, the score is not actionable.
A through F
Letter grades feel decisive and hide the mix. An A in 'SEO' inside Lighthouse can sit on a noindex page. An F in a suite audit can be one blocked folder plus a hundred warnings. Treat the letter as a sort key. Do not report it to a client as the strategy.
A score worth keeping
The useful number is how many priority fixes are left on URLs you meant to rank. Finish those. Re-crawl. If you need a headline for a slide, say what changed: twelve noindex tags removed, not the ring went from orange to green.
Demand the URL
No page, no finding.
Separate the causes
Indexation is not image weight.
Re-measure the list
Not the decoration around it.
